Older people
If you're of retirement age or beyond, there's a wealth of activities and services available at or through St Mary's:
- Two of the church's house groups are primarily for older people, taking place in the daytime. These groups give opportunity for study, fellowship, care and prayer support.
- St Mary's staff and volunteers conduct monthly services at Homebeech and Ebbage Court – two retirement complexes in Mount Hermon Road, Woking – for those who find travel to the church building difficult or impossible.
- For older carers of other people, there are bi-monthly carers' lunches to give a chance to share and meet with other people in a similar situation. Further details from Liz Twigg or Graham Worsfold via the church office: 01483 714657 / office@stmaryofbethany.org.uk.
-
A fortnightly event open to older people is Cameo: there are regular guest speakers on a range of interesting subjects, and frequent hot lunches provided by the volunteers. Further details from George Bishop, via the church office: 01483 714657 / office@stmaryofbethany.org.uk.

- Lovers of film may be interested in the Saturday film club: meeting on occasional Saturdays, showing films in a comfortable lounge space within the church building.
- Do you need assistance in your home, or with shopping, with transport to appointments? SWAN (Southwest Woking Assisting Neighbours) has strong links with St Mary's and may be able to provide the help you need. See below for more details.
