How to give

Give a regular gift

There are a number of ways to give regularly. Whichever way you choose; it is really helpful for our budgeting to let us know by completing the Giving Form and returning it to the Treasurer.

  1. Use the Parish Giving Scheme to set up a direct debit
This is our preferred method for receiving regular gifts. The Parish Giving Scheme benefits St Mary’s as it allows us to receive the gift-aid within 10 days rather than the four months it takes through standing orders.  It also provides the option for the giver to have their payments automatically increased each year by the rate of inflation. Please ask the Treasurer or anyone on the Finance Team for an information pack and direct debit form.

  2. Set up a standing order
Please complete the Bankers Order Form. Alternatively set it up electronically using the following details:
Account Names: St Mary of Bethany PCC
    Sort code: 20-97-58
    Account Number: 30773700

  3. Ask a steward for a giving envelope or take one from the display by the entrance
Complete the details on the front, enclose your donation and drop it in the collection plate by the main doors of the worship area.

  4. Raise money every time you shop online with www.easyfundraising.org.uk
Whenever you buy anything online - from your Christmas shopping, your weekly shop to your annual holiday - you could be raising a free donation for St Mary’s. There are nearly 3,000 retailers including Amazon, John Lewis, Aviva, thetrainline and Sainsbury's, who will donate a percentage of the amount you spend to St Mary’s to say thank you for shopping with them. It's really simple to register and doesn't cost you anything.

All you have to do is:
    1. Click this link to go to http://www.easyfundraising.org.uk/causes/stmaryofbethany
    2. Sign up for free
    3. Get shopping!  Your donations will be collected by easyfundraising and automatically sent to St Mary’s. It couldn't be easier!

You can even download an app that reminds you when you are shopping online at relevant retailers so you don't miss any donations.  There are no catches or hidden charges although don't forget to untick the box to avoid being added to any marketing lists!

A gift in your will

One way you can support St Mary’s ministry now and long into the future is by leaving a gift in your will. Some people think that wills are just for the wealthy but, in fact, it’s important that we all make provision for our families.

The good news is that writing a will need not be complicated, expensive or difficult. Providing you think through your plans for the future, and speak to a solicitor who understands your personal circumstances, it should be relatively straightforward.

After you have made sure your family is cared for in your will, you may want to continue supporting your favourite charities and causes through a legacy or a bequest.
